Belmama & Cherub Shower Hug Review/Giveaway

Anyone who’s had a baby can recall the crazy engorgement that occurs within the first few days postpartum. Your breasts turn in to monstrous balls of milk that ache and beg for relief. I recall feeling tremendous pain. They were insanely sensitive and hot from the skin stretching. It took several days for things to settle down and even then I was dealing with cracked, scabbed nipples and the discomfort associated with that. Showers became a carefully planned out dance of avoiding direct spray on my poor, sensitive girls.

Well guess what? Some genius finally decided to help us find a bit of relief and comfort as we go through this transition. Enter Belmama & Cherub’s Shower Hug

The Shower Hug is a therapeutic relief wrap created by an incredible mama who longed for some relief after her first baby was born. She created the Shower Hug wrap that secures snugly around your chest to provide support and relief where it’s needed most. It can be worn throughout the day, at night and even in the shower to protect sensitive breasts from the shower’s spray. The Shower Hug has also been very helpful for women who are recovering from a mastectomy or breast augmentation, reduction, reconstruction and lifts. It can also be used during a water birth or even to comfort and protect  tummies post C- section! It’s made from an incredibly soft knit terry velour and secures with very strong velcro. It comes with the option of two thread colors, pink or blue.

I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of this wrap! It is So soft and stretchy and provides a very comfortable, snug pressure. The velcro is 4 inches wide and is not your typical hook and loop! This is a type of velcro I haven’t seen before but I can tell it will far outlast any that I’ve experienced in the past!

I am well past the uncomfortable stages of breastfeeding, but I found this wrap to be very useful even now! I absolutely love the feel of it and wear it around the house just for the comfort of it! I always wear some type of bra. I can’t stand the feeling of going bra-less! I very much enjoy support, but often times support comes with discomfort. To find a cozy support wrap was a bit of heaven! I even wear it when jogging or working out since it holds my ladies stronger than sports bras and doesn’t budge!

I tried it in the shower too and found it to be very therapeutic! It held the heat of the water which I found so comforting I decided to turn my shower into a bath. Add some candles to the mix and I had my own personal spa!

I have to admit, I didn’t expect to find The Shower Hug very useful, but I’ve really come to enjoy it! I seriously wish I had been able to use it postpartum! This would be a fantastic gift for any new mama!

  1. I’m due with my second boy in September and I breastfeed. I am not looking forward to the first two months where I remember my breasts being so sore, I was almost ready to give up on breastfeeding. I think this will help me get through those tough times in the beginning.

  2. I’m currently 20 weeks with my third baby and could use this already for my poor achey breasts! It’s a genius idea and I wish they had these when I was pregnant with my others two (:

  3. I’m hoping to win this for a few new mom friends. I know how much pain it can cause sometimes and I don’t want them to be discouraged to breastfeed!
