“It’s the Pits!” Rachel Rene Bath & Body Vegan Deodorant Review/Giveaway

RR

Rachel Rene Bath & Body was created by a mama named Christine in 2006. She began making soaps and other products for her daughter who suffered from eczema. As things progressed she began making other products right from her home where she still makes them today with the help of her daughter, Rachel Rene.

I contacted Christine to review her Vegan Deodorant stick. It’s free of parabens, aluminum and alcohol. I was a bit nervous about the list of ingredients, but after researching each, became totally confident in all of them. Christine lists each one with a small explanation of just what it is. I appreciate when people do this as I’m not a scientist and just want to know what’s what. Here are the ingredients as listed on her website:

“**Propylene Glycol (Biobased): A humectant and fragrance carrier ~ Purified Water ~ Sodium Stearate: A stearic acid salt used as a nontoxic stabilizer ~ Vegetable Protein: Neutralizes odor causing enzymes, Protects against chapping and irritation ~ Hydrogenated Castor Oil: An emollient and carrier oil ~ Isosteareth-2: A fatty-acid that works as an emulsifying agent ~ Salicylic Acid: antiseptic agent derived from the willow tree. Prevents pores from clogging up ~ Steareth-100: An emulsifier, to help keep t ingredients mixed. ~ Chamomile Flower Extract: An anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiseptic and soothing herb ~ Aloe Vera Leaf Juice: A healing emollient with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties ~ Grapefruit Seed Extract: An antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals. Used as preservative ~ Optiphen: A formaldehyde-free and paraben-free preservative Fragrance Free of aluminum or bactericides.

**Our Propylene Glycol is a USDA Certified Biobased Product Label, ensuring the product contains 100% biobased content.  It is made from Soy and/or Corn and has been used in our deodorant since December of 2011.”

See what I mean? Nice!

One of the things I seriously love about her line of Vegan Deodorants are the scent selections available! There are TONS and they all sound so yummy! I settled on Pink Sugar and was very pleased by the sugary sweet smell when it arrived! I also liked that it was in a traditional deodorant container! No rubbing my pits with my fingers!

The stick was firm and smooth. It reminded me of my hubby’s Old Spice stick. It glides on so smooth and smells so lovely! It also didn’t stain my clothing at all. Another BIG plus! My only con was that I typically had to reapply around 2 in the afternoon. Especially if I’d been running around or working out. I would start to notice a bit of a body odor smell and would need a quick reapplication to finish the day out. Now this wasn’t everyday! Just those more active ones. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this stick!

So on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being super fantastic, I gave Rachel Rene a strong 4! I would definitely buy this product again, although it would take some time to decide on another delicious scent! I mean, come on! Just look at the scents available! My 2.5 oz stick retails for $9 and will absolutely last 3-4 months or more! Very economical!

Purchase your own on her website HERE or on her Etsy site HERE and be sure to check out her other awesome products! She has a HUGE assortment from soaps to scrubs to lotions and perfumes!

  1. I love that they sell handmade beauty supplies such as facial products, deoderants, body scrubs and they are paraben free!!

  2. It’s pretty awesome she started a business just by making soap to help her daughter’s skin. Also all her scents are amazing. I would really love to try the patchouli mint.

  3. I am loving how many other products she has to offer. I really like that she posts the ingredients with the actual term and then breaks it down so you don’t have to research what Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is…pure coco fatty acids and stearic acid! So nice!
